Becker Public Relations assisted Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe counties, the local lead agency for child welfare in Miami and the Keys, and the Department of Children and Families, with a press conference in February of 2008 to launch the existence of Connect, a new mobile handheld device for foster children caseworkers. Governor Charlie Crist spoke at the press conference calling the innovative tool a top priority for his administration. The state-of-the-art device is operational now in Miami-Dade county and won numerous awards and recognitions the 2009 Intel Premier IT Knowledge Award by CIO Magazine and the 2009 Mobility Award by Mobile Enterprise Magazine.
